Digital Climate Conference – Event
Industry: Social media for climate solutions
About the case
Over the past three years, we have successfully lobbied decision-makers globally to raise awareness of the climate crisis. Our project aims to create change.
In 2019, we focused on raising awareness and generating insights, while the 2020 We Don’t Have Time environmental conference focused entirely on unique solutions to environmental problems from around the world.
Over the course of five days, 120 experts from 15 countries participated and 500,000 people per day followed the digital event from 135 countries. The result was over 100 global news stories shortly afterwards.
Creating a digital event of this magnitude requires careful planning, often more so than for physical events, as we have to synchronize participants from all over the world. We used cutting-edge technology to build the program format with intro, name tags, news sweep, emcee, and speakers both on-site and via Zoom, leading to panel discussions and individual conversations.
The show was broadcast from two live environments, one in Stockholm and one in Washington, and everything was synchronized via a 1000-minute run schedule from a studio in Stockholm. During the live show, we interacted with the viewers through an app where they could ask questions to the speakers, which were said live from the studio.
